Discussion Post Prompt #3

I nornally look over an assignment so much that by the time I am done with it, I have most of it memorized. I first look over the assignment at the begenning about five to ten times before I even start writing. That way, I know that I fully understand what I am going to be writing about. When I am begenning to write my paper, I keep reading the assignment to make sure that I am giving enough examples and details that go with the topic. I look over the assignment during the begenning as many as ten to fifteen times. And after my draft is done, I read over it over and over again many, many times. I also get my peers, parents, or classmates to read over it to make sure my paper is good enough to turn in. "Consider the evidence" is a great way to write a paper about a personal experience. Usually, from personal experiences, we can make our papers more real and intresting because we have experience in what we are writing about. It can also make a great paper because everyone is different and we can argue about our opinions on the subjuect. It is better to use your own evidence from experience because we really can't argue about things that we do not understand.
I found Idenitify the meaningful parts of the subject the most useful. I think by identifying the meaningful parts, we can make our papers relate to our audience. We can also understand papers more while reading them if we identify with the meaningful parts of papers. They are both giving examples of how you should be writing your papers. They are both also very helpful when writing your papers.  They are different because the rubric goes way further in detail.

  1. I agree with you when you stated that writing about a personal experience makes our papers better. I agree because it is sometimes hard to argue about things you haven't experience. When writing from personal experience you are able to provide evidence of what you are proposing.

  2. When I read that you ask your peers, parents, or classmates to look over your paper before turning your paper in, I started to think that I should do that, too. I never thought of doing it before, because I thought that they might think my paper was stupid, but giving it to them to read over would actually help me if they found something wrong. I also think that writing a paper with "Consider the Evidence" is a great way to do it. With personal experience, we have a greater chance of getting someone to agree with what we believe.

  3. Yes, I definately agree with the reviews and insights from your family and friends. There is definately room for improvement. Also, the meaningful parts are usually the most important parts.
